Bart Byl
Lead Pastor
Bart moved to Tbilisi from Canada in 2016 with his wife Michelle and their two children. Before moving overseas, he spent three years serving on the leadership team of a church plant in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island while building his digital business publishing. Bart has an M.A. in Theological Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, B.C. You can read his occasional essays on Medium.
Bart believes TICF’s makeup as a multi-ethnic, multi-denominational church gives us a unique opportunity to experience a unity in Christ far greater than what divides us. In a world torn between globalization and nationalism, the supernatural oneness of God’s new family is needed now more than ever.
Ira Schmidt
Ministry Assistant

Ira serves as ministry assistant and office manager. She is TICF's main liaison with official entities and manages the daily running of office affairs. Ira is married to Bruno and they have two beautiful girls.
Sonja Lenzkes
Ministry Associate

Sonja assists with support, development and expansion of outreach and discipleship ministry of TICF. Before joining TICF staff, she was on staff at the Georgian branch of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, where she served for eight years. Sonja enjoys hiking and spending time in nature.
